Celtic Music from Wales Since their formation in 1996 Allan Yn Y Fan has carved out a reputation as one of Wales’ foremost traditional bands, with an impressive catalogue of concert, festival and recorded work, as well as a number of European tours to their credit.
The multi-instrumental quintet, as famed now for their ‘beautiful vocals’ as for their ‘fiery instrumentals’, breathe new life into the traditional songs and music of Wales as well as writing their own tunes inspired by their homeland and travels.
Internationally Allan Yn Y Fan has performed twice at Festival Interceltique Lorient in Brittany, played concerts in France and Luxembourg and had several successful tours to the Czech Republic and Germany. Festival appearances in the UK include Glasgow’s Celtic Connections, Trowbridge Village Pump, Bromyard, Beverley, Brampton Live and Rhythms of the World, as well as the world-famous Llangollen International Eisteddfod.
In recent years the band has undertaken two major theatre tours of Wales and a 12 date tour of England and Wales in 2012 supporting the release of their fourth album “Pwnco”. Along the way they have also made a number of radio and television appearances.
Allan Yn Y Fan is renowned for the connection made between themselves and their audiences.
An Allan Yn Y Fan concert is always an uplifting event. As one audience member commended: “Great show, great music – superb connection to the audience”.

Jana Vébrová:
“JanaVébrová works magic with her voice, her accordion, her personality…Her raw, sad, powerful ballads seize you, branding you with their obvious torment…” Jana Nekolová, SANGQUIS No. 82/2010
“The album ‘Kykyrý’ has a very compact sound. Emotions and feelings act as a common thread; Jana is brilliant at employing them, manipulating them, drawing them together, only to let them eventually gush out from under the surface at the most appropriate moment. The same can be said about her lyrics…” Tomáš Parkan, musicserver.cz, 20.10.2007
